The other way around
During my time in Salzburg the weblog was the ideal way to communicatie with the people at home and a good way to show them how I lived there. Now it is the other way around! The first weeks at home where strange and amazing. It is really hot, today 36 degree’s. The first saturday at home we had a big barbeque with family and some friends wich was really cool. The other good news was the fallen parlement, so we can vote again! Hopefully this time a more left-wing parlement and things are looking good for that. The first cycling races I did went amazingly good. The results where 6th, 2th, 7th, 1th and 7th! Looks like my mountain rides back in Salzburg worked out fine. You can find pictures here from our house and some cycling pics of the first races.
This are two pictures of my pretty big bedroom. Unfortunatly the rooftops take away some space but it is much bigger then the Salzburg room. I did not found time yet to make a mess again, that is why my room on the photo is pretty neat.
That looks familiar! I brought this very expensive souvenir all the way from Salzburg to Groningen and it is in good company of Duvel, a premium Belgian beer and a Heineken.
No Untersberg, no Kapuzinerberg and also no drunk people and no balcony. It is our quit little street Valklaan that I see when I look out of my window.
Our livingroom downstairs.
Our backyard is nice and green during spring and summer. The ponds in the garden are huge, they take a way 33% of the garden but they look pretty cool I think.
Our house from the frontside. It is a double house, for Dutch standards you can call this a middle-class house I think. But the street we are living is really nice, green and lots of water.
The ponds are nice, there is much water in our village. Behind the houses on the last picture there is a lake where I did swim this weekend. Nice to have that around. When you look at the grass you can see how dry it is. We didnt had any rain since I came back. For me ideal, but farmers are complaning and in big trouble.
This is our street, the Valklaan. There are a few good things about this street. No drunk people, my grandparents live here, it is quite and green and the views are reasonable. But I miss the Untersberg offcourse!
This is the second stage of a cycling race. The first race I finish second and I had to defend the yellow leaders yersey in the next stage. That was not easy because wearing a yellow years means lots of work. Closing gaps in the peloton and one always must be aware of the opponents.
I outsprinted my main opponents for the classification and i finisht 7th in the final stage wich was enough to win the classification. I was surprised, amazed and totally happy with this unexpected victory.
The goal was to finish my first races in the main peloton to get used to the high speed and thight corners again. But things went much better than expected with this victory. Isn’t the last picture nice? I will keep you informed,
Sincerly deine,
Tom
